Energy Efficiency & Conservation Block Grant (EECBG)

Overview
The Sustainability Office coordinated the county's $659,800 Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (ECBG) award. The award supported:
  • Development of a Frederick County Energy and Green Building Program
  • Installation of a solar thermal pre-heating system at the Adult Detention Center
  • Energy audits for county buildings
  • Retrofits to lighting and mechanical equipment at the Courthouse
  • Pinecliff Park A-Frame
  • Highway truck sheds
  • A greenhouse gas emissions inventory
  • A community-based home energy audit project
Prior to receiving grant funds, Frederick County was required to submit an Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy to the U.S. Department of Energy. View the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Strategy for more information.

Covered Time Period
