For Primary School Teachers & Students

R Info 4 Kids! Recycling Education Kits
We've created fun kits to help students in grades K-2 and grades 3-5 learn about waste and recycling. The kits are available for loan at no charge to classroom teachers and come packed with a wide variety of age-appropriate educational materials, from DVDs and books, to show & tell items, lesson plans and hands-on activities.
Kits are designed to inform, engage and inspire students to think green. In addition to the materials on loan, each individual class borrowing a kit may receive a limited number of coloring books, pencils or other items to help students remember to recycle. Kits must be reserved in advance and may be borrowed for up to 4 weeks. Kits may be reserved by calling 301-600-2890.

Discover the "Magic of Recycling"
To date, 19 FCPS elementary schools have benefited from having school-wide assemblies presented to their students to educate about the process and importance of recycling. These interactive, entertaining shows are put on by a professional performer and entirely funded by a grant obtained by the Department of Solid Waste Management.
