Public Safety Goals
Overview
- Provide a Corrections Bureau to address the needs of the community while maintaining the highest professional demeanor.
- Provide community protection through the safekeeping of lawfully incarcerated individuals.
- Provide and maintain a safe, humane and just environment for the offender and Corrections Bureau Staff.
- Provide opportunities for motivation and self improvement in order to aid in the successful reintegration of offenders into the community through a variety of self - help and professionally guided programs.
- Enable offenders to maintain significant ties with family and the community; and maintain employment and financial responsibility while participating on the Work Release Program.
- Meet and maintain compliance with established standards of the Maryland Commission on Correctional Standards, the Maryland Police & Correctional Training Commission, and the National Commission on Correctional Health Care.
