Overview
The Corrections Bureau’s Security Operations Division is under the command of the Director of Security. There are 108 uniformed positions and one Administrative Specialist assigned to the Security Division.
The Security Division provides for the overall security, custody, and confinement of all incarcerants remanded to the custody of the Detention Center by the judicial system. The Division is organized into two primary units:
- Security Operations
- Special Operations Unit
Two Lieutenants command the four security teams, which provide 24-hour security coverage of the Detention Center and the Central Booking Unit.
The Special Operations Unit is also commanded by a Lieutenant and is comprised of:
- The Transportation Unit
- The Emergency Response Team
- Central Booking
- ICE Processing
Additionally, this Lieutenant is responsible for any other special operations, which might occur.
