2013 Holidays and Closings

Meals on Wheels provides two meals a day to eligible participants throughout Frederick County. A hot meal is delivered midday, accompanied by a cold meal that can be refrigerated and eaten later. Participants must be homebound due to illness or physical limitations; not able to prepare meals and has no caregiver to assist with food shopping and preparation; or cannot safely prepare food due to physical, mental or emotional impairment.

Meals are planned and prepared to meet the Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDAs) for older adults. Special diets currently offered include: regular, diabetic/low carbohydrate and mechanical soft menus. Additional special diets may be available from some vendors.
