Redistricting in Frederick County
Overview
On October 20, 2011, the Governor signed into law SB 1, which changes the Congressional Districts for Frederick County.  Frederick County will now be in two congressional districts, CD 6 and CD 8, beginning with the 2012 elections.  A map of CD 6 can be found here; a map of CD 8 can be found here

On June 21, 2002 the Maryland Court of Appeals issued a new 2002 Legislative Redistricting Plan for the entire state. The plan issued by the Court divided Frederick County into parts of two legislative districts, Districts 3 and 4. District 3 is shared with Washington County, and District 4 is shared with Carroll County. Voters in Frederick County vote for State Senators from Districts 3 and 4. They also vote for members of the House of Delegates in Districts 3A, 3B, 4A, and 4B, depending on where the voter lives.

In the 2012 General Assembly session, new Legislative Districts were drawn, and will be in effect for the 2014 elections.  If you have any questions about your current legislative district, call the Elections Office at 301-600-VOTE.
