POST-STORM ROAD CONDITIONS TO AFFECT RECYCLING COLLECTION
FOR THE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 8-13, 2010

To assist Frederick County Office of Highway Operations crews with the clearing of raodways, the Department of Solid Waste Management will not adhere to the regular curbside recycling collection schedule this week.

*** There will be no collection of recyclables on Monday February, 8.  To keep roadsides clear, residents should not set out their recycling carts and bins on Sunday night or during the day Monday.

Curbside collection will resume on Tuesday, February 9 and all schedules will shift one day later than their normal pick-up for the remainder of the week  (refer to the chart below to see the shifted schedule.)  Where possible, residents are also asked to promptly remove emptied carts from the roadside.

Please be aware that road and/or weather conditions this week may cause some streets to be inaccessible by collection trucks on their scheduled slide day.  Drivers will attempt to collect wherever possible.  If conditions prevent recyclable materials from being picked up along a particular street on its designated day, residents are asked to leave their carts out until the next day, as drivers will attempt to collect again.

Further information and updates on the status of the curbside recycling program can be obtained by visiting this website or by calling 301-600-2960 to hear regularly updated voice recordings.
