Monocacy Scenic River Citizens' Advisory Board


The Monocacy Scenic River Citizens' Advisory Board was created in 1978 and is comprised of ten members, five appointed by the Carroll County Commissioners and five appointed by the Frederick County Commissioners. Learn more?

Monocacy Scenic River Access Plan

Monocacy River Management Plan created in 1990 by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and the Monocacy Scenic River Local Advisory Board.

Invasion of the Rusty Crayfish Biologists from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources find invasive crayfish in the Monocacy. MD DNR has banned the catch, possession and use of crayfish as bait in the Middle Potomac River Basin, which includes the Monocacy River Watershed. Crayfish ban in effect for Middle Potomac and Susquehanna River basins.
