Bathing Beaches
In Frederick County, the Health Department licenses two public bathing beaches, Cunningham Falls State Park and Catoctin Quaker Camp. Water sampling and inspections are conducted and complaints are investigated. For further information about bathing beaches throughout Maryland please check out

Swimming Pools and Spas
Indoor and outdoor public swimming pools and spas are licensed by the Frederick County Health Department. Inspections are conducted prior to pool openings and during the season. Pool operators that are working in Frederick County will need a Frederick County Pool Operator's Card issued by the Health Department. To get information about obtaining a Frederick County Pool Operator's Card or to make a complaint about a public swimming pool please call the FCHD at 301-600-1717.
