Well Permit
How to Apply
- Applicants must submit their application for a well permit in person at the Frederick County Health Department, Environmental Health Services.
- The fee for the permit can be found on the Fee Schedule
- This fee can be paid in cash or with a personal check.
- Information pertaining to the property where the well is to be drilled must be supplied on the application, including, but not limited to:
- Name of owner/applicant
- Mailing address
- Address of property
- Name of subdivision and lot number (if applicable)
- It is also necessary at some point in the process to choose a licensed well driller.
- The permit is issued after Health Department review and approval of any necessary plats or site plans and /or approval of the drilling location.
- If there is a problem or question prior to the permit being issued, you will be contacted either by phone or by mail.
