The Frederick County Health Department, Substance Abuse Division is offering tobacco use prevention grants.

Funds are made available through the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Center for Health Promotion, Cigarette Restitution Fund Program.

Purpose & Scope
The purpose of the funding is to reduce, eliminate, and prevent tobacco use and the morbidity and mortality caused by tobacco use in Frederick County.

Programs must address the needs of minorities living in the county, in an effort to reduce health disparities caused by tobacco use. The minority populations specifically targeted are:
  • Pregnant women
  • Medically underserved
  • African-American
  • Asian
  • Hispanic/Latino

  • Adult cessation Programs
    • Pregnant women
