Additional Financial Aid Information 


Applicants who are denied assistance have the right to appeal. All appeals must be submitted in writing to the Frederick County Park and Recreation Division Director no later than 10 business days from the date of denial. An appeal must state the reason the applicant feels they should receive assistance and any special situations and / or verifications that would help with the re-determination.

Attendance / Refunds

Failure to attend a program may affect future financial assistance. If you want to withdraw from a program, call (301) 600-2936. All requests for refunds must be made two weeks prior to the start of the program. A $4 processing fee will be charged for each participant per program refunded. Refunds are always issued in check form, regardless of method of payment. All refund requests must be approved by the Recreation Superintendent.

Cap / Limit

There is a financial assistance limit of $250 per person per fiscal year (July 1 - June 30). The limit for organizations is $100.

The division does not provide transportation for programs.
