Museum Info. & Highlights
The Farm Museum was founded in 1977 by the
Frederick County Farm Museum Association, Inc.
Exhibiting late 19th century and early 20th century agricultural practices and farm family life, the farm buildings provide a glimpse into Frederick County's rich agricultural heritage. The Farm and Family building houses exhibits that highlight various aspects of farm life from the kitchen to the farmer's broom shop. The Bank Barn houses the Planting and Harvesting of Generations exhibit, which includes a collection of agricultural hand tools and machinery. The FMA hosts a spring and fall festival each year.
Mini Barn & Farm Life Exhibits
Opened in 2011, these children's exhibits provide opportunity for exploring the history of agriculture. Exhibits provide opportunity for play and learning through various activity stations.
Exhibits & Displays
The Farm and Family Building features exhibits which highlight various aspects of 19th century farm life and contains our Children's Mini Barn and farm themed activities center. The Bank Barn houses the Planting and Harvesting Exhibit, which includes a large collection of agricultural hand tools and machinery.
The Association offers annual spring and fall festivals. These events feature:
Steam engine demonstrations
Antique tractor pulls
Requests to tour the exhibits may be made from April through October in the museum office. Be sure to get more information before planning a visit.
