DTV Conversion FAQ
In 2009, broadcast TV stations started broadcasting using only digital signals and stopped broadcasting their analog signals. Below is some information about how this change impacts viewers:
Are subscription based services like cable or satellite affected?
No. This change only affects the free over the air broadcasts that are received via antenna.
Do I need to buy a new TV?
No. However, unless you have a newer TV with a digital broadcast tuner you need to purchase a digital-to-analog converter box for each analog TV.
Am I still be able to watch FCG TV on channel 19?
Yes. FCG TV is still available to Comcast cable subscribers within Frederick County. Cable and satellite TV is not affected by this change and their subscribers are not impacted.
