Legislative Affairs
The legislative affairs program of the Board of County Commissioners provides Frederick County with a structured, methodical and centralized approach to the
legislative process.
County Attorney John Mathias serves as the Legislative Director, identifying and monitoring bills of interest to the citizens of Frederick County, drafting legislation and providing public testimony before the General Assembly in Annapolis.
A Legislative Coordinator from the
County Manager's Office provides assistance to the County Attorney during the legislative session (the 430th session convenes on January 11, 2012, and adjourns on April 9, 2012) and as needed throughout the year in monitoring legislative proposals and reporting on the impact to Frederick County.
Citizens are encouraged to provide input and feedback in the legislative process. For further information, contact County Attorney
John Mathias at 301-600-1030 or Legislative Coordinator
Ragen Cherney at 301-600-1049.
