2010 – 2011 Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan Update
The update to the 1999 Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan will focus on
improving cyclist and pedestrian safety by targeting residential and
commercial growth areas, school zone areas, high-crash locations, and
high-volume roadways.
A priority project needs assessment
will include a review of potential on-street bikeways, off-street paths,
sidewalks, intersection improvements as well as education, enforcement
and encouragement programs.
The Draft Plan document is expected to be completed
and available for review/comment in early 2012. Public hearings will be
held with the County Planning Commission and the Board of County
Commissioners.
