Comprehensive Energy Plan
Overview
On September 16, 2010, the Board of County Commissioners adopted a Comprehensive Energy Plan as guidance to operating divisions of county government. The CEP establishes definitive goals (annual) for reducing the county's use of non-renewable energy over a fifteen year period in its office buildings, vehicle fleet and facilities by 50% or more.

The Management Services Division prepared the CEP; the Sustainability Office provided content review and has responsibility for elements of plan implementation. The Frederick County Sustainability Commission reviewed the CEP and provided a recommendation to the Board of County Commissioners.

Did You Know That:
Frederick County government saves $391,470 each year in on-going savings attributed to our fuel and energy conservation initiatives. We have saved more than $930,000 over the past 5 years from these efforts.
