Courthouse Cell Phone & Electronic Devices Policy
New Policy
The State of Maryland, Administrative Office of the Courts, has issued a
new policy related to the use of cell phones and other electronic
devices in Maryland Courthouses. Under limited circumstances and subject
to certain restrictions, persons may now possess and use certain
portable electronic devices in the Frederick County Courthouse.
Court Room Rules
- All electronic devices must be turned off and out of view.
- No phone calls or text messaging
- No photographing
- No audio or video recording
- All persons and articles are subject to physical search by court security personnel.
- Failure to abide by these rules may result in confiscation of equipment and /or contempt charges.
