Program Descriptions
*Our Natural Resources
Encourages students to consider the impacts of their actions on the natural environment. They will study the water cycle with terms such as evaporation, condensation, and precipitation, and learn ways they can help reduce their ecological footprint.
*Population's
Teaches students about the
positive and negative impacts of wildlife populations on the local food webs.
Discussion Topics will include: inherited physical characteristics, genetic
traits, and behavioral adaptations.
The following class details apply to both Third Grade Field Trips:
- Program Lengths: 1 1/2 hours
- Class Sizes: 10 - 75 students
- Chaperones Required: One chaperone per 15 students
- These classes meet the following Maryland curriculum standards: SC.300.10.02, SC.300.30.04, 05; SC.300.60.01, 02
*In-School Presentations
These programs are available as in-school presentations. These include: live animal presentations and
interactive nature activities. The program fee will include the cost of
the program plus a $50 transportation fee.
