May is Older Americans Month and we are celebrating by holding a senior carnival.

Partners in the Arts
Partners in the Arts is a program developed for people in the early stages of Alzheimer’s or related dementia and their caregivers which encourages participation in activities that focus on the enjoyment of the arts.

Care Connection, Tuesday, April 29
Join us at the Emmitsburg Senior Center for Care Connection, a social program designed for caregivers and the person(s) for whom they are caring.

Law Day, Thursday, May 1
Sign-up now to have an attorney prepare  your advance directive for free on Law Day.

Silver Ribbon Series, June 9-13
Save the date! The Silver Ribbon Series addresses public safety issues for seniors.

Ask Nurse Steve
Each month in 2014, Steve Stoyke, LPN, provides a brief overview and answers your questions about a current health topic. Check your senior center calendar for date and time.

Memory Cafe Luncheon
Memory Cafe: Join us for lunch on the 3rd Friday of every month for a time of education, support and good food.  Everyone affected by dementia is welcome.

To register call 301-600-1605  Space is limited!  All workshops start at 9:30 a.m. unless otherwise indicated.

Mobile Information and Assistance (I&A)
The team from Md Food Bank, Energy Assistance and the DoA will visit each senior center monthly to provide information, answer questions and complete applications for SNAP (food stamps), Energy Assistance, and Medicare Subsidies.  Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins will be welcome.
