Landfill Operations


The Department of Solid Waste Management operates the Reichs Ford Road Sanitary Landfill.  The Landfill is accessible to businesses and residents for the disposal of waste generated in Frederick County only.

        **Effective Immediately: All customers without and existing account must pay for all 
          transactions at time of service. 
 

·         Proof of residency in Frederick County is required such as a driver's license, vehicle registration, or utility bill.

·         Out-of-County businesses disposing of Frederick County waste are required to pay at the time of service or they may prepay. 

·         Acceptable forms of payment are personal/business checks, money order, cashiers check or cash.

·         Credit/Debit cards are NOT accepted.

Commercial Rates

Municipal Solid Waste - $76 per ton

Construction & Demolition - $85 per ton

Resident Rates

Municipal Solid Waste (general household trash) - $3.80 per 100 pounds

Construction & Demolition - $4.25 per 100 pounds

Tires 33” or less – up to 5 per year at $3.80 per 100 pounds ; more than 5 tires requires a Maryland Department of the Environment Scrap Tire Haulers License and will be charged at the $160.00 per ton commercial rate.  Tires over 33” will be charge at the $160.00 per ton rate.

Mattresses and Box Springs – up to 3 each per year at $3.80 per 100 pounds ; more than 6 total units will be charged at the commercial rate of $28.00 each
