 Head Start

Frederick County Head Start promotes school readiness and success in later life by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of education, health, nutrition, and social services to enrolled children and families.

The program serves over 260 children and their families, employs over 75 staff members, and has become an important partner in the local early childhood community.

Staff members engage parents and guardians in their children’s learning and help them make progress toward their own educational, literacy, and employment goals.
