Impacts on Growth Task Force
Overview

At the Board of County Commissioners’ (“Board”), meeting on October 31, the Board established a task force in order to review and investigate the best way to finance some of the impacts of housing and development growth in Frederick County.  The task force was charged to examine the ways Maryland counties use impact fees and transfer taxes state-wide. The Task Force will report back to the Board on their findings on Thursday, February 6, 2013, at 9:30 a.m. with the Final Report.

Additionally, the task force investigated measurements of quantifiable data on growth impacts and how to best address the financial impact on a fair and equitable basis for the taxpayers of Frederick County.

The Impacts on Growth Task Force consists of representatives of the following:

            Frederick County Manager, Chairperson
            Frederick County Senator or Delegate
            Maryland Municipal League Frederick County Chapter Representative
            Frederick County Association of Realtors Representative 
            Frederick County Building Industry Association Representative
            Chamber of Commerce Representative
            Higher Education Representative
            Frederick County Public Schools Representative
            Commission on Aging Representative
                     
The Impacts on Growth Task Force held their first meeting on Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at 3:00 p.m., in the third floor meeting room, Winchester Hall, 12 East Church Street, Frederick. 

The Task Force conducted open meetings and sought input and involvement from the public and other Frederick County organizations.
