Do you have high electric bills? An older refrigerator could be a big part of the problem, especially because refrigerators run all day and all night. Refrigerators manufactured before 2001 use a lot more energy than today’s Energy Star models.
In the past 10 years alone, refrigerators have become 50% more efficient! Using an Energy Star® refrigerator over 10 years could save your family $500 - $2,000 depending on the age of your current refrigerator. To calculate your savings more accurately, try out this Energy Star Refrigerator Retirement Savings Calculator.
