Proclamations & Certificates
The Frederick Board of County Commissioners is pleased to offer a variety of recognition and congratulatory documents such as proclamations, certificates, and greeting and recognition letters.  Sample Proclamation

Proclamations allow groups, organizations, offices, or departments to receive an acknowledgement from the Board that proclaims a date to honor their achievements or to provide public awareness of their issues.  In addition, the County may make a local proclamation of any state or federal proclamation for public awareness of a group or issue.

The Board also issues certificates of recognition and appreciation to individuals and groups based upon their achievements or service.

When submitting a request, please include the following:

  • Name of the contact person
  • Organization requesting the document
  • Organization’s website address
  • Brief description of event, organization, cause or person
  • Telephone number (cell number, if available)
  • E-mail address
  • Mailing address
  • Presentation date to list on the document
  • Date the document is due

A request for a proclamation and/or certificate should be submitted for review and approval at least two business weeks prior to the date that will be proclaimed or the date the document will be presented.  However, for planning purposes, requests may be made up to six months prior to a presentation.
