Through its administrative office and each of its departments, the Citizens Services Division improves the wellbeing of Frederick County, Maryland residents by providing low or no-cost person-centered housing, human services, and community resources.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

Frederick County citizens, businesses, associations, schools, and organizations are invited to help raise awareness of child abuse by wearing blue, the national color for child abuse prevention, on April 1, 2022. Please feel free to share this flyer. For information on how to become more involved, contact the Child Advocacy Center at 301-600-1758.

The following Boards and Commissions are coordinated by Citizens Division Staff:

  1. Affordable Housing Council
  2. Commission on Disabilities
  3. Commission For Women
  4. Human Relations Commission
  5. Local Management Board

The Council supports existing affordable housing providers in their programs; acts as a representative for affordable housing in both existing and new regulations and programs in Frederick County, City of Frederick, and municipal government; encourages, assists or creates new affordable housing programs and/or support groups; and presents the affordable housing message and current conditions and future needs to the community.  Also administers its deferred loan program, which is funded by Frederick County Government to support the increase of affordable housing, both rental and homeownership, in the county.
