Division of Family Services

Through its administrative office and each of its departments, the Division of Family Services improves the well-being of Frederick County, Maryland residents by providing low or no-cost person-centered housing, human services, and community resources.

County Executive Announces ANCHR Grant Program

Trauma Responsive Frederick

With a focus on healing, Frederick County, Maryland, is a trauma responsive community where people are informed, engaged, and proactive in meeting the needs of all individuals. The following Boards and Commissions are coordinated by Division of Family Services Staff:

  1. Affordable Housing Council
  2. Local Management Board

The Council supports existing affordable housing providers in their programs; acts as a representative for affordable housing in both existing and new regulations and programs in Frederick County, City of Frederick, and municipal government; encourages, assists, or creates new affordable housing programs and/or support groups; and presents the affordable housing message and current conditions and future needs to the community. Also administers its deferred loan program, which is funded by the Frederick County Government to support the increase of affordable housing, both rental and homeownership, in the county.
