Independence Day: To observe the Independence Day holiday, our public facilities (landfill, yard waste site, and recycling drop-off center) will be closed holiday on Saturday, July 3, 2021. The facility will be open on Monday, July 5, but the administrative office and call center will be closed that day.
Ongoing Covid-19 Facility Impact:
While the Division of Solid Waste and Recycling facilities (landfill, transfer station, yard waste site and recycling drop off center) are operating on the normal schedule, Monday - Saturday, 7am - 4:30pm, administrative office buildings remain closed to the public. Please call 301-600-1848 if you need assistance with landfill business.
At this time all transactions must be paid by credit card or check, no cash payments.
All customers are required to practice social distancing. Facial coverings are recommended if social distancing cannot be maintained while on site.
The Frederick County Division of Solid Waste and Recycling operates the Reichs Ford Road Sanitary Landfill, Transfer Station and Recycling Drop-Off Center, which are accessible to businesses and residents ONLY for processing waste generated within Frederick County.
All waste disposal transactions require a driver's license.
For customers with an out-of-county address on their driver's license, proof of the address in Frederick County where waste was generated is required (such as a utility bill, tax bill, lease agreement, contract, work order, etc.)
All customers without an existing account must pay for transactions at time of service.
Acceptable forms of payment are personal/business checks, cashiers check, money order, Discover, Visa, or Master Cards. (Cash transactions have been suspended during the pandemic.)
