7th Annual Green Homes Challenge Recognition Event
Congratulations Certified Households!
Frederick County officials and OSER staff recognized Certified Households at the 7th annual Green Homes Challenge Recognitionevent on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the Delaplaine Arts Center. Since Frederick County launched its Green Homes Challenge in January 2011, more than 750 households have met one or more of the three Green Homes Challenges: Be a Power Saver, Be a Green Leader, or Be a Renewable Star.
About the Challenge
The Green Homes Challenge guides, rewards, and recognizes households for saving energy, adopting environmentally-friendly lifestyle practices, and using renewable energy. Over 2,100 Frederick County households are engaged in the Challenge!

2018 Sustainability Awards
County Executive Jan H. Gardner and Frederick County Sustainability Commission Chair Ronald Kaltenbaugh also presented the 2018 Sustainability Awards to the following winners:
Stream-Link Education— Stream-Link Education is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to connect community to conservation by organizing volunteer tree planting experiences to promote environmental awareness.
Ron Holter - Holterholm Farms - Ron, a pioneer in the Regenerative Agriculture and Holistic Management movements, converted Holterholm Farm, his family's 6th-generation, conventional dairy farm, to an all-organic farm.
