To ensure the health and safety of Frederick County’s seniors and our staff, the Senior Services Division will be phasing in the opening of County-operated senior centers over time, based on the guidance of Frederick County public health experts. Our top priorities are to support vaccination clinics, assist in the Call Center, and deliver food to vulnerable older adults.
While our doors may be closed, we continue to provide personal care for homebound individuals, caregiver support, client and case management, health insurance counseling, as well as activities and programs through the virtual senior center. As we move forward, some programs must be scaled back gradually, and other programs will be built up slowly. Your patience during this transition is appreciated.
The Virtual 50+ Center offers a variety of fitness classes such as strength training, yoga, Zumba, and line dance.
In addition, social, recreational, and educational programs are scheduled. These include discussion groups, book clubs, film club, drawing class, and health and nutrition programs.
You don't have to be a Veteran to attend!
