Periodically, Frederick County’s Division of Energy and Environment requests residents provide input on various plans, assessments, or reports.
The purpose of the proposed project is to reduce hazards associated with the potential for flooding from a catastrophic failure of a dam in the Point of Rocks Community Park and from storm events and protect life and property. The purpose of the Environmental Assessment is to analyze the potential environmental impacts of the proposed project.
The public has 30 days (July 26 - August 25, 2023) to review and comment on the Assessment, which can be read in full here: Draft Environmental Assessment: Point of Rocks Significant to High-Hazard Dam Decommissioning and Stream Restoration LPDM-PJ-03-MD-2022-002
