One Month Only - Through September 27th, 2023
The Division of Energy and Environment and the Frederick County Division of Solid Waste and Recycling are sponsoring an online sales event to bring lower-cost rain barrels and compost bins to our community! Simply pre-order items in September and pick them up on a designated day in October. Here's how:
- Visit the manufacturer's sales website to select and pay for your items. All items must be ordered directly from the manufacturer by September 27, 2023. There will be no extra supplies on hand for those who do not place an online order in advance.
- When ordering, select which day you will pick up your items. Materials MUST be picked up on one of the two scheduled dates. Items cannot be delivered or held. Please do not purchase if you cannot pick up your items.
- Mark your calendar and arrange to pick up your purchased items on either Saturday, October 7 (12-4pm) or Monday, October 9 (5:30 - 7:30pm).
- No refunds will be possible if you do not pick up your items. These sales are processed by an independent vendor; no funds are handled and no profits are received by Frederick County Government. Items not claimed will be considered a donation to the County's sustainability programs.
Pricing
- Rain Barrel: $70
- Compost Bin: $60
- Optional accessories:
- Kitchen Collection Pail: $12 (may be helpful if you don't have a container to collect scraps in)
- Compost Aerator: $15 (can help speed up the composting process)
- Compost Bin Base: $15 (not necessary, but may be helpful if you are concerned about rodents)
