Meeting Planned for May 2 at Butterfly Ridge Elementary School
FREDERICK, Md. – Residents who live on the west side of the City of Frederick and in Ballenger Creek are invited to a community meeting to discuss plans for a new library branch. Frederick County Executive Jan Gardner and County Council President M.C. Keegan-Ayer are co-hosting the event, which will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 2, in the cafeteria of Butterfly Ridge Elementary School. James Kelly, Director of Frederick County Public Libraries, will present information at the meeting.
Executive Gardner included a West Frederick Branch Library in her Fiscal Years 2023-28 Capital Improvement Program. By locating the library on County-owned property on Himes Avenue, the branch will be able to open five years earlier than originally anticipated.
Members of the public who want to attend the May 2 discussion should use the school’s cafeteria entrance. Translators and American Sign Language interpreters will be on-site for the meeting.
