KIM FOUND GUILTY FOR FIRST DEGREE MURDER, ATTEMPTED FIRST DEGREE MURDER

FREDERICK- Song Su Kim, 30, of Falls Church, VA, was found guilty yesterday, but not criminally responsible, by the Honorable Scott L. Rolle for one count of first degree murder and for one count of attempted first degree murder. Kim will be committed to the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene at Jessup’s Clifton T. Perkins Hospital Center. He will be evaluated within the next 50 days to determine if he is a danger to society and re-evaluated annually for the duration of his commitment.

On July 27, 2015 the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stabbing that occurred at the Anna Prayer Mountain Recreational Center in Frederick. While on the scene police and first responders were able to identify that two individuals, Chung Hwan Park, 63, of Suwon, South Korea, and Ae Suk Ko, 58, of Suwon, South Korea received multiple stab wounds. Park was pronounced dead at the scene while Ko was flown to Baltimore Shock Trauma Center for treatment. After interviewing Kim, speaking with a witness at the scene, and reviewing video surveillance police arrested Kim.
