FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 02/12/2016Controlled Dangerous Substance Arrests
On February 11, 2016, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office conducted an enforcement operation that resulted in 4 people being charged with possessing controlled dangerous substances and other violations. This is a continued effort by the agency to promote public safety and to reduce the presence and availability of illegal substances within Frederick County.
Members of the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Operations Section and K9 Unit participated in the operation. During these operations deputies are placed at strategic locations throughout the county to enforce motor vehicle violations and criminal drug violations. This assignment focused on the eastern part of Frederick County. Over the course of a six hour period, deputies made over 15 traffic stops. During the course of those traffic stops, the following individuals were charged;
1- David Lee Bennet, age 30, Berkeley Springs, WV- Possession of heroin- Possession of a Schedule III narcotic (Suboxone)
2- Amanda Nicole Turner, age 30, Hagerstown, MD- Possession of controlled paraphernalia, (syringe)
3 - Candy Christine Hundley, age 25, Harpers Ferry, WV- Possession of drug paraphernalia (marijuana pipe)
4- Amanda Leigh Jones, age 34, Fairplay, MD- Possession of drug paraphernalia (marijuana pipe)
5- Charles Stanley Weaver Jr., age 30, Harpers Ferry, WV- Driving on a revoked out of state license- Driving without a license
One civil citation was issued for possession of less than 10 grams of marijuana.
