FREDERICK- Corey Malik Grant, 45, of Frederick, MD pled guilty on Tuesday to First Degree Assault, Home Invasion, and Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Burglary.

On August 25, 2015 the Frederick Police Department responded to a welfare check at a private residence in Frederick. The check was performed after receiving multiple calls about a disturbance at the residence. The investigation showed that three masked individuals had entered the residence through a secured front door. She was then assaulted by Grant and received multiple bruises, burns, and abrasions to her stomach, back, neck, and lower body. Grant then took two cell phones from the residence and he and the other two individuals left prior to police arriving at the scene. The victim was later sent to Frederick Memorial Hospital for treatment. Grant was arrested on August 30, 2015.

Grant will be sentenced on March 29, 2016. He will remain in custody at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center prior to sentencing.
