FREDERICK- John Harley Goble, 28, of Mount Airy, MD, was sentenced yesterday by the Honorable Theresa Adams to 15 years with all but 9 months suspended. Goble will serve the first three months of his sentence at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center and then the following six months on home detention. On January 11, 2016 Goble pled guilty to three counts of Possession of Video of Child Under 16 Engaged In Certain Sexual Acts.

On July 25, 2014 the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office received a report from the Center for Missing and Exploited Children about two videos containing child pornography. The videos were being hosted on a cloud-based storage data service. After tracking the individual’s Internet Protocol address they were able to identify that the video was being shared by a computer located at a residential address in Mount Airy.

On November 6, 2014 the Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at that address and identified the individual using the computer as the defendant, John Goble. Police made contact with Goble at the scene and seized several electronic devices. After reviewing the contents of the items seized police arrested Goble on July 7, 2015.

Upon completion of his sentence, Goble will serve five years of supervised probation. He will also have to register as a Tier I sex offender, undergo a Psycho Sexual Evaluation and Risk Assessment, cannot view or possess any pornography, and cannot have any contact with children under the age of 18.
