Inspection Fees - Office of the Fire Marshal

The Office of the County Fire Marshal is authorized to charge fees for services provided during the course of inspections. This fee schedule has been approved by the County Council. 


Payment Options


In person:

  • Pay in person with cash, check, money order, debit or credit card at the Treasury Department, 30 North Market Street, Frederick, MD. The office hours are 8 am to 4 pm, Monday through Friday.
    • You can make in person payments in the following manners:

        • Use the drive-thru window.
        • Place your payment in the secure dropbox which is located at the front of 30 N. Market Street,
        • Inside teller window.
  • Please make sure you include your case number on the check. This will be provided to you by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
    • Please make checks payable to Treasurer of Frederick County
  • Please note payments using debit or credit cards are assessed a service fee of approximately 2.5% of the payment amount (minimum is $2.00). This fee is levied by the payment processing company and cannot be waived by Frederick County.

Online:

Pay by credit/debit card or e-check/online check on the County's website at https://planningandpermitting.frederickcountymd.gov/register

  • New Users: If you have never created an account, you will need to register as a new user with the email address provided to the Fire Marshal. 
  • Established Accounts: Log into your account using the email address provided to the Fire Marshal.
  • Please note payments using debit or credit cards are assessed a service fee of approximately 2.5% of the payment amount (minimum is $2.00). There is also a flat service fee of $1.49 for payment by e-check/online check. These fees are levied by the payment processing company and cannot be waived by Frederick County.

By phone:

  • Pay by telephone using a credit/debit card or e-check/online check by calling the Treasury Department at 301-600-1111.
  • Please make sure you have your case number ready for the clerk. This will be provided to you by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
  • Please note payments using debit or credit cards are assessed a service fee of approximately 2.5% of the payment amount (minimum is $2.00).
