The Fire Marshal’s Office has primary responsibility for the preventive inspections of all places of assembly, educational facilities, summer camps, all County buildings, businesses, and other occupancies allowed under the Frederick County Fire Prevention Code and Maryland State Fire Prevention Code. The Office also inspects certain state licensed facilities.
The Office of the Fire Marshal investigates all complaints relating to fire, life safety, and other code violations and conducts investigations into the origin and cause of all fires, explosions, hazardous materials releases, and other hazardous conditions.
