Service Line – The entire water pipeline that connects your structure to the water main. This typically consists of two sections: the utility owned portion and the customer owned portion. The utility owned portion spans from the water main to the water meter. The customer portion spans from the water meter to your structure.
Water Main - A larger underground pipe designed to allow water to flow through it and into multiple connected smaller pipes. These smaller pipes lead to structures providing running water.
Non-Lead Status - The portion of water pipe that is not lead.
Lead Status Unknown - The portion of water pipe material that couldn’t be identified using records and should be treated as a lead water pipe until verified.
Lead Status - The portion of water pipe material that is lead. This portion must be replaced.
Galvanized Status - The portion of water pipe material that is galvanized and downstream from a lead source. This portion must be replaced.
