Disability Review Board

The Disability Review Board (DRB) is comprised of a subset of members of the Committee governing the Frederick County Employees Retirement Plans (Plans).  The DRB is part of the process by which the Plans determine whether an applicant is eligible for disability benefits under the Plans.  The DRB reviews medical evidence to determine a participant's eligibility, and it determines appropriate classification and issuance of benefits (Ordinary or Line of Duty Disability).

Meetings of the DRB are convened on an as-needed basis, with agendas posted at least 24 hours before each meeting. Upon establishing a quorum, meetings typically transition into Administrative Function in accordance with the Maryland Open Public Meetings Act.  Administrative Function enables the DRB to perform duties related to the internal management of the plan and individualized benefits deliberation, which are not open for public review.
