In order to enhance the safety of the visitors and employees of Frederick County Government, the following new security policies will be effective as of Monday, September 16:
• All visitors to Winchester Hall, 12 East Church Street, Frederick, Md., must present photo identification upon entering the building. A sign will be posted on the front door of Winchester Hall to indicate this new procedure. However, no one will be denied access to Winchester Hall if photo identification is not available. Security staff will work to accommodate all visitors.
• Each visitor, upon signing-in, will indicate what individual and/or division he or she will be visiting. A visitor badge, with a floor destination, will then be issued.
• The front elevator near the security desk will be for visitors to use. The east elevator will be for county staff only. The east elevator can be used by a visitor only if escorted by a county employee.
• If visitors or employees are attending a public meeting or public hearing in either the first floor hearing room or third floor meeting room, they will not need to sign in.
