The Department of Solid Waste Management is announcing an extension of the Business Waste Reduction and Recycling Award application period.
The deadline for local organizations to submit information is now Monday, October 17, 2016.
Applications can be found online at www.FrederickCountyMD.gov/BusinessRecycle.
This award is designed to shine light on the practices of local businesses and organizations that have reduced their impact on the waste stream.
Award winners will be acknowledged by the County Executive, receive plaques and be featured in media releases and online and print advertising.
Any Frederick County organization that makes efforts to reduce, reuse or recycle may apply online.
