Last year,
Frederick County Animal Control and Pet Adoption Center took in just under
4,000 animals. The reality is we couldn’t find homes for them all.
You can help us
save pets’ lives! By spaying or neutering your pets, you’ll help reduce the
number of homeless animals in our community.
Thanks to a
$17,950 grant from the Maryland Department of Agriculture Spay and Neuter Grants
Program, Frederick County Animal Control can provide 169 vouchers to eligible
Frederick County residents for use at participating veterinary clinics. This
program allows for 45 male cats, 45 female cats, 42 female dogs and 37 male
dogs to be altered. The vouchers cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery
and a rabies vaccination.
This program,
which begins now, will run until all funds are used or until September 27,
2019. Altered Reality targets some of the areas within Frederick County from
which FCAC receives the most unaltered animals. Residents who meet the criteria
below and own cat or dog who hasn’t yet been “fixed” are eligible for an
Altered Reality voucher.
