[ARCHIVED] Frederick County SKYWARN Winter Course Announced

FREDERICK, Md. – The Frederick County Division of Emergency Management is pleased to partner with the National Weather Service Office in Sterling, VA to offer the advanced Winter SKYWARN seminar. Attendees must be at least 14 years old and have previously attended a SKYWARN Basics class. This course is free of charge.

When: Thursday, December 14, 2023 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Where: Frederick County Public Safety Training Facility

SKYWARN is a National Weather Service (NWS) program designed to obtain critical information during times of severe weather. SKYWARN volunteers receive training in storm identification and evolution, and when severe weather threatens, they report information to the local NWS office.
