[ARCHIVED] Public Invited to Attend Kickoff Meeting for County’s CTE Master Plan Study

FREDERICK, Md. – Members of the public are invited to attend the kickoff meeting for the Frederick County Career and Technical Education (CTE) Master Plan Study on Wednesday, February 19 at 6:00 p.m. in the first-floor hearing room of Winchester Hall, 12 E. Church Street in Frederick.

“Frederick County is a leader in Career and Technical Education in Maryland, but we know we can do even more to harness one of our greatest assets – our ability to form partnerships,” said County Executive Jessica Fitzwater. “We are excited to develop a multi-agency strategic master plan to maximize space, programmatic planning, and funding for CTE that spans K-12 as well as secondary and continuing education partners.”

Frederick County recently entered a partnership with BerryDunn, an award-winning accounting and consulting firm, to conduct a CTE Master Plan Study. This initiative will examine the County’s current CTE resources, programs, and spaces while planning for future industry growth, population changes, and workforce needs. It will also meet requirements for the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future.

This collective effort will include participation from key stakeholders such as Frederick County Public Schools, Frederick Community College, Frederick County Workforce Services, the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce, and members of the community.

The upcoming kickoff meeting will be an opportunity for the public and partners to learn more about the CTE Master Plan Study and share ideas for the future of Frederick County’s CTE programs. The goal of the meeting is to share information about the initiative and begin to collect feedback to ensure the right programs are offered in the right spaces.

Anyone needing special accommodations for the upcoming meeting should contact the Americans with Disabilities Act Coordinator at ADA@FrederickCountyMD.gov, or by calling 301-600-1100. To request a Spanish interpreter, please call 301-600-1208.
