[ARCHIVED] New Traffic Control at East Intersection of Corporate Drive, Bentley Way, and Brandford Lane

FREDERICK, Md. – The Division of Public Works, Traffic and Permit Section, announced today that changes to traffic control at the east intersection of Corporate Drive, Bentley Way, and Brandford Lane are planned for April 15, 2025.  Currently, Bentley Way and Brandford Lane are required to stop, and Corporate Drive is not.   Beginning April 15, new stop signs will go into effect and all four legs of the intersection will be required to stop.

The additional stop signs on Corporate Drive are considered necessary to address pedestrian-vehicle conflicts. A significant number of children from nearby schools cross at this intersection.

In accordance with Maryland driving law, at all intersections controlled with 4-way stop signs in Maryland, the vehicle that arrives first may proceed through the intersection after coming to a stop at the stop sign. If more than one vehicle arrives at the stop signs at approximately the same time, the motorist must yield to the vehicle to the right.

For additional information, please contact David Olney, Engineering Supervisor, Traffic & Permit Section, at 301-600-2930 or via e-mail at dolney@FrederickCountyMD.gov.
