FREDERICK, Md. – Young Horizons School, a locally founded and independently operated early childhood education center, has officially opened its second location in Frederick County, offering families a new option for nurturing, high-quality, and affordable preschool and childcare.

“Young Horizons School is an important addition to our community, helping to ensure that families have the essential support they need to thrive,” County Executive Jessica Fitzwater said. “By prioritizing high-quality and affordable childcare, Frederick County is strengthening the foundation of our community and our workforce.”

Frederick County was a natural choice for the school’s newest location, with its strong community values, growing population of young families, and emphasis on education and safety. The need for high-quality early learning was evident, and Young Horizons is excited to be part of the solution.

Born from a deep passion for early education and a desire to create accessible opportunities for working families, Young Horizons School was founded with a clear mission: to combine educational excellence with personalized care — all within reach for more families.

“We knew there was a better way to deliver exceptional early learning — one that doesn’t compromise on quality but still remains accessible for working families,” said Anil Cherukuri of Young Horizons School.

Young Horizons School provides care for children from infancy through Pre-K, with full-time and part-time program options. The curriculum emphasizes developmentally rich learning experiences with a focus on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and Montessori-inspired education. The facility features modern, state-of-the-art classrooms designed for both safety and exploration, and children learn effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

“Parents tell us all the time that they’re amazed by the care, the curriculum, and the facility — especially when they compare it to other options in the area that charge significantly more,” Cerhukrui shared. “We believe every family deserves access to a great start for their child, and that’s what we’re here to provide.”

Unlike many national franchise models, Young Horizons is independently run and deeply rooted in the communities it serves. The Frederick location is the program’s second facility, with one located in Elkridge, Maryland. Once the plan for a second location became clear, Frederick County Government played a role in supporting the school through licensing and permitting, making the launch process smooth and collaborative.

A grand opening celebration and ribbon cutting for the Young Horizons School of Frederick was held on Thursday, July 24th at the new Frederick facility located at 4714 Arcadia Drive, Suite 150.

As early childhood education continues to play a vital role in supporting both children’s development and the local workforce, Young Horizons School is proud to be investing in the future of Frederick County.
