FREDERICK, Md. – Due to the winter storm, the Frederick County Division of Solid Waste and Recycling’s Reichs Ford Road facility will be closed Monday, January 26. This includes the Frederick County Transfer Station, Landfill, Yard Waste and Compost Program, the Recycle Center Drop-Off and Citizens Convenience Center.
Due to this closure, the County’s Curbside Recycling Collection will be postponed Monday and a “Snow Day Slide” schedule will be in effect for the upcoming week. This means recycling collection will slide one day, beginning with Monday’s collection taking place on Tuesday and ending with Friday’s collection taking place on Saturday. For more information, download the “Recycle Coach” mobile app and “enable notifications” for a dynamic schedule.
If you participate in curbside recycling, shelter and secure your bins to allow crews to clear roads without hazards. Participants are also encouraged to share information about this service change with neighbors.
The Division of Solid Waste and Recycling encourages those with questions about their trash service to reach out to their hauler, municipality, or HOA to learn about any service interruptions.
If there are disruptions or changes for Tuesday, January 27, a separate news release will outline next steps that may include further slides and potential service cancellations.
