Fewer vehicles on the roads will allow snow crews to clear the roads and emergency responders to address community needs.
President Gardner said, "County road crews continue to work tirelessly to clear county roads following this week's near blizzard snow storms. While a decision has been made to lift the Local State of Emergency, some roads remain closed and snow covered. Residents are encouraged to stay home and off county roads to the extent possible. Many roads are still in extremely dangerous condition, closed or have only one lane available. Recovery from these storms requires time and hard work. We greatly appreciate the patience of the citizens as we continue our operations.”
The county's Emergency Operations Plan remains activated and authorizes agencies to take appropriate actions to protect lives of Frederick County citizens.
